Online Trolling is taking over the internet

I believe that now the internet has been advancing, and newer technology has been formed in the past decade, people are able to remain anonymous and it takes longer for them to be tracked down.  The trolls feel like they can say whatever they want because no one knows who they are.  If they were taken off of anonymous they wouldn't be bold enough to comment those hurtful things to others.  Also if they knew that there would be a serious consequence for their action, then it wouldn't occur.  Nobody wants to get in trouble by the law.  The only reason why they pursue trolling is because they are sure that they can get away with it.  Trolling  has become a serious issue.  Even though the person trolling may not have meant for it to be that serious. It can take a huge toll on the person that is being affected by it.  I believe that internet trolling is a form of bullying. Just like bullies, people troll because they feel  insecure about their selves. They want you to feel the pain they've experienced. It makes them feel better when they can ruin someone else day because they know that they aren't the only one suffering.  Some trolls just want a reaction from you, if you entertain their foolishness they will continue to harass you. Trolls are just cowards who hide behind the screen.  They aren't bold enough to say it to your face.  I would say the best way to confront a troll is by avoiding them. Ignoring their comments will cause them to be bored and move on to their next person. If that doesn't stop get in contact with a higher authority who will take action and put a stop to the situation.

  1. I agree with you, trolls are cowards that hide behind the screen and feel like they are capable of saying anything and getting away from it because they are anonymous. I know that the law doesn't usually get involved in trolling unless it leads to a suicide which is a crime on the others person behalf. I think the law should get involved sooner and trolling should be taken more serious because innocent lives will be save and the trolls will be put behind bars which will lead to less trolling on social media. Trolling is a version of bullying and falls under cyberbullying and with cyberbullying leads to other people behind screens being intentionally rude to someone because they may have experienced bullying themselves or much worse, yet it isn't a excuse to go around make someone else life miserable .

  2. I agree with Alana because she is right! trolls are cowards that hide behind the screen and say anything and everything on the computer just because you're not able to see them. People need to be stopped from doing and saying all of these harmful things on the internet that keep either going viral or keep being replayed or said over and over. Bullying over the internet is a horrible way to express your feelings and that's usually the route that people take to get over things. I feel as if there should be a law that if you bully on the internet or online once then your not let on again cause this has just gotten ridiculous. Some of things that people say on the internet can also cause people too commit suicide and do other harmful things to their body.
